DETOUR (James Siegel) - May 15/05

Extremely entertining, though entirely unbelievable thriller revolving around a couple who head to Colombia to adopt a baby girl - with expectedly disastrous results. Siegel keeps the action coming fast and furious, and while the novel does feature a somewhat less-than-exciting subplot involving a Nanny and her deceased daughter, there's virtually not a single wasted word here.
