AUDITION (Katie Kitamura) - April 25/25

Uhh, what? This extremely pretentious novel was kind of entertaining in parts, as Kitamura does a nice job of burrowing very deeply into the protagonist's mind. But it's also just so meandering and the whole thing with the two separate lives doesn't make any sense whatsoever. ** out of ****

MICKEY7 (Edward Ashton) - April 20/25

I quite enjoyed this book. Some of the scientific concepts flew way over my head, but Ashton does a good job of establishing the characters and their terraforming exploits. The frequent stories about past terraforming attempts effectively deepens our understanding of this world. ***1/2 out of ****

THE ONE (John Marrs) - April 12/25

I enjoyed this book and the premise/twists, but it feels really long. I guess maybe it’s because the stories kept changing every five pages or so, which meant it always took me a second to figure out who was who. I think longer chapters might’ve worked better here. *** out of ****
