THE BURDEN OF PROOF (Scott Turow) - September 19/25

Ugh. I hate not finishing books but I just had no choice with this one. I got to the point where I was barely reading it anymore so I figured it was time to stop. It’s not even that bad, really, but it’s just oppressively long and descriptive. So frustrating. Unfinished.

GOOD GAME, NO REMATCH (Mike Drucker) - September 5/25

I was pretty into this for a while, especially since he was talking about stuff I remember like the Power Glove etc. but it just gets too deep into video games and the like; the Dungeons and Dragons chapter is endless, for example. Like most autobiographies, this should have been a fraction of the length. **1/2 out of ****

THE BLACK ICE (Michael Connelly) - September 1/25

I guess the problem is I didn’t find the case very interesting. Bosch is still a terrific character but I was never able to get into the central storyline - which ensured the descriptive passages towards the end, particularly the raid against the compound, were a little tedious. **1/2 out of ****
